D-supplies
It's hard enough keeping track of what's in your backpack most days, but when you walk out your door, you have to remember to take your D-supplies with you.
Your D-supplies include:- A list of all your medications
- Your medical ID bracelet
- Blood glucose meter (take an extra one just in case)
- Test strips
- Lancets
- Insulin
- Syringes and/or pen needles
- Glucose tablets, glucose gel, or fast-acting sugar snack (just in case you go low)
- Alcohol wipes/hand sanitizer
- A pencil box or somewhere to store your used needles until you can throw it away properly
- Glucagon emergency kit
- Extra batteries for your meters and your pump
- Insulin pump and pump supplies (spare reservoir, infusion sets, clear dressings, etc.) if using insulin pump
It may sound like a lot, but if you keep a little case or bag that holds everything and keep it well stocked, you won't have to think about it every time. Just don't forget to take it with you! ;)
