Artichoke Toast Slices

| (16 oz) loaf Italian bread or whole wheat bread | 1 |
| fat-free sour cream | 0.67 cup |
| minced garlic | 0.50 tsp |
| (14 oz) can quartered artichoke hearts, drained and coarsely chopped | 1 |
| shredded, reduced-fat Monterey Jack cheese | 0.67 cup |
| chopped green onions | 0.50 cup |
| hot pepper sauce | |
| Salt and pepper to taste (optional) | |
| grated Parmesan cheese | 2 Tbsp |
Preheat oven to 350°F.
2:Slice the bread in half lengthwise.
3:Carefully scoop out the bread in the center with your fingers and cut it into small chunks.
4:Toast 2 cups of the chunks in the oven for 5 to 7 minutes until light brown, then let cool.
5:In a medium bowl, combine all ingredients except the Parmesan cheese.
6:Fold in the toasted bread. Spoon the mixture into the bread shells.
7:Sprinkle each bread half with Parmesan cheese and bake for 18 to 20 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
8:Cut into slices to serve.
