Frozen Strawberry Swirl Angel Pie

Try this recipe with other soft fruits such as peaches, mangoes, or raspberries. You only need about 1 cup of sliced fruit to flavor 3 cups of ice cream.
|sliced strawberries||1 cup|
|no-sugar-added fat-free vanilla ice cream, softened||3 cups|
|cream of tartar||0.25 tsp|
|vanilla extract||1 tsp|
|granulated sugar||0.25 cup|
|For an optional garnish, add fresh whole strawberries.|
Preheatoven to 225°F. Coat a 9-inch glass pie plate with cooking spray and set aside.2:
Combine the egg whites and cream of tartar in a medium bowl and beat at medium speed until foamy. Beat in the vanilla.3:
Gradually add the sugar and beat at high speed until stiff peaks form.4:
Spread into the prepared pie plate. Bake 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes or until the meringue is dry. Cool in the pan on a wire rack.
