Good Ol' Pork Barbecue

This recipe is high in sodium due to the catsup. If you need to reduce the sodium in your diet, try using reduced-sodium catsup.

canola oil 2 Tbsp
onion, minced 1 small
catsup 1 cup
red wine vinegar 2 Tbsp
honey 1 Tbsp
Worcestershire sauce 2 Tbsp
water 1 cup
paprika 2 tsp
chili powder 2 tsp
cayenne 0.50 tsp
lb cooked pork tenderloin, shredded or cubed into small pieces 1.50
toasted French, Italian, or multigrain bread 2 slices

To make the sauce, combine all ingredients except the pork and bread in a saucepan.


Simmer uncovered over medium heat for 15 minutes, until the onion has softened.


Prepare the pork and add it to the sauce.Continue to simmer for 5 minutes.


Pile the pork filling evenly over each bread slice.Eat with a fork.
