Jalapeno Peanut Hummus with Fresh Herbs

This spicy, creamy spread tastes great with fresh veggies or whole wheat pita wedges.

(15 oz) can organic chickpeas (garbanzo beans), drained 1 small jalapeño pepper, with or without seeds 1
garlic clove 1 large
natural creamy peanut butter 1 Tbsp
lemon juice 2 Tbsp
water 0.25 cup
sea salt, or to taste 0.25 tsp
chopped fresh cilantro or flat-leaf parsley 3 Tbsp

Puree all ingredients except the cilantro in a blender until smooth, adding more water by tablespoonfuls only if necessary.


Top with or stir in cilantro and serve with raw vegetables or fresh whole wheat pita wedges.
