finely chopped onion 0.50 cup
Smart Balance margarine 2 Tbsp
whole-grain brown rice, uncooked 1 cup
water 2 cups
sodium-free chicken bouillon 1 Tbsp
Pepper, to taste
1:

Sauté onions in margarine until soft and tender; do not brown.

2:

Add rice and cook, stirring frequently for 5 minutes. Add water, bouillon, and pepper.

Cook covered for 20–25 minutes.

Bell peppers, carrots, green onions, or celery can also be added.
