Nasi Goreng is a quick and easy rice-and-beef preparation from Indonesia. Spicy curry powder and red pepper flakes are balanced with the flavors of tart apples, tomatoes, and green peppers for a one-of-a-kind dish. Serve hot or at room temperature, accompanied by chutney, banana slices, mango, raisins, peanuts and/or shredded coconut. Serve with Indian flat bread for an authentic Indonesian meal. | curry powder | 1.50 tsp |
| salt | 0.50 tsp |
| crushed red pepper flakes | 0.25 tsp |
| cooked rice | 1.50 cups |
| tart apple, peeled, cored, and diced | 1 ea |
Prepare a large skillet with nonstick pan spray; brown the ground beef over medium-heat. Drain the fat.
2:Add the onions, green pepper, tomato, and apple. Continue cooking until the vegetable are crisp-tender.
3:Stir in the curry powder, salt , and crushed red pepper flakes. Lower the heat and cook for 5 minutes. Stir in the rice and cook 5 minutes longer.
